We believe it is the responsibility of large organisations like ours to play a full and active role in the communities they serve.
We are committed to working pro-actively with community energy groups and recognise that the volunteer led approach and complex nature of their projects means that community energy groups need more time and support to engage in the process of connecting to the network.
Early discussions with us regarding future energy plans within your local community can help to provide a better insight to how the electricity system is developing and how that might be best supported by your community energy scheme.
We can also provide more detail to help you understand more about the process, timescales, technical considerations, consents/legal requirements and possible constraints of making a connection to the network in a particular area.
If you would like to discuss your plans with one of our planners you can request a community energy appointment. When we receive your request we will call you within 2 working days to discuss your scheme and the options available to you. If we feel a follow up meeting would be beneficial we can arrange that too.
