A Cracking Collection
Hundreds of gifts and donations have been made by colleagues at WPD for good causes across the region.
Teams from Bristol, Plymouth, Cardiff, Church Village and Hinckley have donated gifts to their local Barnardo’s service, which supports children and young people in local authority care. Its annual appeal called for gifts to the recommended value of £10 for children who wouldn’t otherwise receive anything.

Kind-hearted teams have also made gift donations to other local charities including Nottingham County Council Social Services and Valley House in Coventry, which provides safe houses and support to women and their children who had fled from domestic violence.
Cathy Sanders, who helped co-ordinate the appeal at Hinckley, said: “This has become an office tradition and many retired colleagues even popped back to continue their support for the collection.
“Thanks to everyone digging deep, lots of children will be well looked after. We were thrilled to see all the presents together in the office before delivering them to the charities and hope that they will bring smiles to lots of children’s faces.”

Instead ofa gift collection, colleagues at Redruth made a cash donation in lieu of sending Christmas cards to each other and have raised £420 for children’s hospice Little Harbour, part of Children’s Hospice South West.
But it’s not just children that colleagues have shown their support for this year. A pet food collection took place at Bristol and over £50 has been raised for the RSPCA Bristol Dogs and Cats Home.
