Cash for Schools
Earlier in the year we teamed up with the Worcester News to launch the Cash for Schools initiative, which is a big money give away for local primary and middle schools.

In October, members of the public were invited to nominate primary schools to receive a share of a £25,000 cash pot. The shortlisted schools then had eight weeks to collect voting coupons.
The coupons have now been counted and the prize fund is being shared between the schools depending on the number of votes collected for each. The one with the most votes is receiving the biggest share of the fund.

Peter Broughton, WPD’s Team Manager for Worcester City said: “As a major employer in the region, we try to provide support to a variety of projects relating to education, safety and the environment.
“We are delighted with the response to the Cash for Schools initiative and really pleased to see all the different ways in which the cash will make a real difference to the thirty winning schools across the county.”
