Consultation has begun
Community councillors from across the affected area, along with representatives from key user groups, have been contacted to gather their views on the project proposals and to ask them to share any local knowledge they feel would be useful at this early stage. Members of Parliament, Assembly Members and Regional Assembly Members have also been offered briefings on the project.
This initial stage of consultation will last until the end of September. A preferred corridor will be selected and possible connections routes identified between the wind farms at Brechfa, which are being proposed by developers RWE npower renewables and Renewable Energy Systems, and the connection point to the electricity network at Llandyfaelog.
Public consultation will start in early 2014 when feedback will be sought on the alignment of the possible connection routes.
