Forum to explore 2023 community energy plans

We will be setting out our plans to support community energy and the drive to net zero in 2023 at an online event next month.

Representatives of community energy groups are invited to attend the Net Zero Community Energy Forum on Wednesday 7 December to give us feedback on what they hear and tell us how we should be supporting them.

There will also be breakout sessions giving people the chance to discuss topics with community energy experts from various organisations.

If you weren’t able to join our forums in Birmingham and Exeter recently, this online event between 10am and midday is a great way to get involved. You can register to join here.

As part of our RIIO-ED2 Business Plan for 2023-28, we are committed to supporting the 100 existing community energy groups across the South West, the Midlands and South Wales, and enabling 150 new ones get off the ground.

One of the ways we will be doing this is by hiring a community energy engineer to work with community energy groups in each region, using their technical understanding and local knowledge to help groups connect to our network.

We are also committed to holding 60 surgeries a year where community energy groups can receive one-to-one assistance to deliver their net zero ambitions for their areas.
