Going the extra mile

WPD Technician Paul Brinicombe and eleven of his colleagues collected over £1600 for Rowcroft Hospice after completing a challenging 38 mile cycle ride from Torquay Depot through to Kingsbridge in driving rain and a strong headwind.

The ride was in memory of a colleague, Bob Worth who sadly lost a sudden battle with cancer last year.

Paul explains: “Bob spent his final days at the hospice and we wanted to do something in his memory.”

“We tried to make the challenge a little different with me and Ben donning crash test dummy outfits riding a tandem cycle. We certainly stood out on the highway and raised a few laughs.”
