Hundreds of our electricity engineers and field staff have travelled across the UK and Ireland to help with the Storm Éowyn clean-up operation
Teams from South Wales, the South West and the Midlands have been redeployed from their usual locations to work in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland to support the recovery from the storm.
Roisin Quinn, Director of Field Operations at National Grid Electricity Distribution, said: “We’re very proud of our dedicated teams who have been quick to support colleagues in other parts of the UK and Ireland.
“This collaboration provides additional strength to teams so power can be restored as soon as possible, and customers can be supported when networks are damaged by severe weather.”
The support is part of an energy industry mutual aid agreement, which all UK electricity distribution companies have signed up to.
