LV Sensor Evaluation project is complete
19/12/2012
One of the key phases of the LV Current Sensor Technology Evaluation project has now been completed, following the testing of a range of equipment at the National Physical Laboratory.
As part of the joint WPD & UK Power Networks Tier 1 project, seven different manufacturers have had their equipment subjected to a programme of accuracy tests through a range of scenarios. This included tests relating to positional sensitivity, temperature and linearity tests over several known currents. In conjunction with this, practical testing is also being conducted with the equipment being installed at a range of indoor and outdoor substations. This will help understand some of the practical issues associated with installing monitoring as well as gathering valuable data on our assets.
