Moving Forward

Western Power Distribution (WPD) has made a donation to Breast Cancer Care to help fund the charity’s first Moving Forward event in Nottingham, which will help to provide vital support for people after breast cancer.

The free Moving Forward event, run in partnership with the Nottingham Breast Institute, will give people the chance to ask questions about how to adjust after their breast cancer diagnosis or how to manage side effects of treatment.

Morwenna Foden, Regional Services Manager at Breast Cancer Care, said:

“We are delighted to be able to run a Moving Forward event in Nottingham for the first time thanks to the extremely generous support of WPD.

“Finishing treatment can be a very overwhelming time. People assume they will immediately go back to how things were before, but this isn’t always the case.

“The sessions provide invaluable information and guidance to help anyone affected by cancer, empowering them so they can approach life after treatment with more confidence. It’s also a great chance to meet others who are in a similar situation and know what they may be feeling.”

“Many colleagues have friends or family members who have been affected by cancer – including breast cancer – and we wanted to support the charity in a practical way. Supporting the course seemed like an ideal opportunity to do this and we hope that it helps to make a difference to patients across the county.”
