Radstock Riders

Nurses at Bath RUH Children’s Ward accepted a cheque for almost £3,000 from our local staff recently.

Engineers and office staff took to the road with the aim of raising funds for two local children affected by spinal muscular atrophy who needed specialist equipment like car seats and wheelchairs. Sadly the young brother and sister passed away within weeks of each other before the charity cycle ride could take place.

Nurses on the children’s ward receive the donation from some of the WPD staff involved in the charity cycle ride.

Steve Greenman from WPD who knew the family and organised the Radstock Riders charity cycle ride with his colleagues explained: “The family were keen we continued with the event and agreed the funds raised should go to Bath RUH Children’s Ward and the SMA Trust.

“Tinged with sadness there was a great spirit among the group during the ride. Thanks to everyone’s generosity we hope this donation will make a difference to all the children who have to stay in hospital.”
