Safety Wins

We have won a top award for its display exhibition at this year’s Royal Welsh Show.

Over 1,000 youngsters entered our safety quiz for the chance to win an iPad mini.

We claimed the Best Educational and Instructional Value Stand – its exhibition deemed by the show’s judges to have provided a vast array of fun-packed, educational material for all ages in English and in Welsh.

Each year, the company enlists the expertise of staff from science discovery centre, Techniquest to accompany it at major shows, helping to provide hands-on exhibits, games and puzzles, based around science and maths.

The WPD display at this year’s Royal Welsh Show also included a safety quiz offering youngsters the chance to win an iPad mini, which attracted over 1,000 entries, as well as an opportunity to meet its safety superhero Pylonman.

WPD’s Education Liaison Officer, Eileen Leadley explained: “We were thrilled to receive this accolade. For WPD, safety and education is a priority and we are always looking to raise awareness whenever and wherever we can, and to highlight the dangers that can be associated with the work we are responsible for.

“This is why we interact with around 50,000 children each year, by visiting schools and taking part in events like Crucial Crew and careers fairs like Big Bang.”
