Planting positivity
Students from the Sheiling School in Thornbury teamed up with volunteers from The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) for a lesson in tree planting this week.

We made a donation to TCV which enabled them to give a lesson for the day. The plan of action was to plant 150 bare-root whips, secure them with a wooden stake and attach a protective guard to help them establish during the growing season.
Claire Dinsdale from TCV who co-ordinated the planting with the school said: “There are many reasons to plant trees including creating greener communities and providing a diverse haven for wildlife.
“Once these trees are established they will create a screened off area in the school grounds where the students can enjoy their forest school activities.”
The Sheiling School provides a holistic education with access to a wide range of therapies that support the special educational needs of each child or young person attending.
