Team rescues a prickly customer

Stafford-based Technician Pete Lewis and Cannock-based Craft Attendant Connor Lewis found themselves facing a particularly prickly customer last night while carrying out an HV cable repair at Hixon, near Stafford.

As they were working they noticed a crying baby hedgehog make its way onto the main road. As it was in danger, they removed it and put it in the hedgerow.

Pete says: “We left it in the hedgerow as you’re meant to but it kept coming back and lying in the road. There was no sign of its mother or any siblings and as its chances of surviving on the road weren’t good we put it in an empty resin bucket with some hay and gave it some cat food.”

The hoglet has been taken to West Midlands Hedgehog Rescue.
