The cream of the crop

Western Power Distribution’s hugely popular apprentice programme has produced another batch of successful employees who have completed their two year craft apprenticeship.

Robert Symons, WPD's Chief Executive Officer congratulated this year's award winners, L-R, James Griffiths, Scott Hartland, Connor Parsons and Richard Goodwin.

During each two year programme, managers can nominate apprentices to be shortlisted for the annual ‘WPD Apprentice Shield’, which recognises those individuals who have demonstrated exceptionally high standards in both their practical work and their written Technical Apprenticeship Record.

Winning nominees for 2015 were Scott Hartland from Taunton, James Griffiths from Withybush, Richard Goodwin from Stoke and Connor Parsons from Lincoln.

This year’s winners each received £500 and had their names engraved on the WPD shield. They were also presented with certificates and engraved tankards.
