The design unveiled

An artistic youngster from South Wales who scooped the top prize in a competition to design a Christmas card for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society, has seen her winning design in print and on sale.
Eleven year old Emily Bevan’s drawing of the nativity was launched as the Society’s official Christmas card this week at the Winter Fair.
WPD’s Huw Thomas is pictured presenting 11 year old Emily Bevan from Talybont with a framed copy of her winning artwork at the official opening of the Winter Fair.
Emily, a former pupil at Mount Street Junior School, Brecon now attends Crickhowell High School, was presented with a framed copy of her winning artwork at the official opening of the Winter Fair at the International Pavilion on the Showground in Builth Wells.
Emily’s winning design was judged overall winner in this year’s Children’s Art and Design competition which we sponsored. She received a cash prize of £30 plus £100 for her school.
The competition itself attracted hundreds of young artists from schools rightacross Wales. Pupils were invited to use their skill and imagination to design a painting or drawing illustrating ‘What Christmas Means to Me’.
This year Mount Street Junior School swept the board by winning six out of the fourteen prizes that were up for grabs at the Competition, the school itselfmanaged to win £200 overall. With two of the pupils gaining a first prize in theirage groups.
The Bevan family together with representatives from Mount Street Junior School were also invited to the event along with WPD’s Distribution Manager, Huw Thomas.
