We're recruiting 100 new apprentices

We are looking for talented, highly motivated people to join our ranks as part of its 2015 apprenticeship recruitment campaign.

“We’re looking to recruit around 100 technical apprentices across our region as part of our core strategy to bring in fresh talent and to maintain a skilled workforce as existing staff retire,” said Liz Kelly from WPD’s Employee Relations team.

WPD owns and operates the electricity distribution network, providing power around the clock to homes and businesses across the Midlands, South West England and South Wales.

“The skills that we provide our apprentices are high value and unique to our industry. Apprentices can look forward to a challenging, rewarding and secure career in an industry-leading company,” said Liz.

Apprenticeships take two to three years to complete and include formal in-house training at WPD’s own Training Centres as well as on-the-job training at a local depot.

The role would suit someone who enjoys outdoor work and relishes both a mental and physical challenge. Jobs available include Linesmen, Jointers and Fitters.
