14 useful tips to save on energy bills during coronavirus - This article includes practical advice on saving energy at home.

National Grid Signposting

Flexible Power - ‘Flexible Power has been created through a joint initiative from four of the UK Electricity Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to deliver the procurement of demand response services.

Network Opportunity Map - The Network Opportunity Map provides an indication of the network's capability to connect large-scale developments to major substations. One element of our plan to accommodate electric vehicles on our network is to make use of existing capacity. We have reviewed this capacity at a street by street level using our local distribution substations. We assessed the available capacity at each site and have represented this as a generic level of EV charging capacity. The colour gradings are intended to guide the user to areas of the network where a connection is more likely to be achieved without significant reinforcement.

Network Flexibility Map - The Network Flexibility Map has been developed to display where our network is currently seeking flexibility, or may seek it in the future.

Investment Map - We are constantly carrying out works to maintain and improve the network yet, the large one-off projects that we commission tend to get reported more often. However, we believe that the smaller, local projects are just as important and have detailed a selection of projects that are planned and being completed in 2019 and 2020.

Smarter Networks - This section has been designed to help navigate customers through the changing energy system.’

Funding

Community Energy Fund - The government provides support to communities through the Community Energy Fund, which enables both rural and urban communities across England to access grant funding to develop local renewable energy projects for investment.

The national Fund is a grant programme for community groups and eligible third sector organisations to develop projects from feasibility to commercialisation. The funding supports eligible community groups to consider options, design schemes and overcome barriers to investment. The programme is being delivered through Local Net Zero Hubs and further information on applying for funding can be found on their individual websites:

Find a Grant Service – This government service allows you to search for government grants.
